REGULAR ITINERARY

Day 1-Ushuaia, Argentina

You have to be at 14:30 hrs. in Ushuaia (Argentina) to check at Albatros Hotel.  After the check in, transfer to the Cruise to begin the trip.

Day 2 to 3-Drake PassageAntarctica

The Cruise will navigate through the famous Drake Passage.  This passage was named in honour to Sir Francis Drake, the English Navigator of the XVI Century.

The navigation will continue towards the Antarctic Convergence, a biological barrier where cold polar waters sink beneath the warmer waters of the more temperate zone.

Day 4-King George Island

King George Island, in the South Shetland is the first step to the Antarctica (or Antártida). Potter Bay, located in this are will be the place where we will have our first exploration. Then the Cruise will continue to Aitcho Island.  Here we will have our second exploration.

The navigation continues crossing the Bransfield and Gerlache Straits to visit Neko Bay.

Day 5-Antarctic Peninsula  & Neko Bay

You are in Antartida.  Here you will see skuas, blue eyed shags, gulls and cape petrels the local wildlife that survives in extreme conditions. Whale observation is also possible and if you are lucky some of them will “dance” near the cruise during all the time they want to.  The ship will land on Port Lockroy.

Day 6-Pleneau – Peterman IslandAntarctica

The Cruise begins to sail through Lemaire Channel, a narrow channel.  Try to wake up early in the morning to fully enjoy the landscape and the way that the Cruise enter into this narrow passage.  After crossing Lemaire you arrive at Peterman Island.  You will have the chance to discover if  Peterman Island is one of the most attractive places in the world, as many people say.  In Peterman Island you will visit a  colony of Adelei penguins.

Day 7-Paradise Bay – Cuverville Island

Peterman Island is the last southern point in this Cruise.  In the morning you will discover the beautiful Paradise Bay and afternoon, you will explore Cuverville Island, where you will find the largest colony of Gentoo penguins and skuas. This rocky island is on the north side of the Errera Channel, between Ronge Island and the Arctowski Peninsula.

Day 8-Deception Island –  Livingstone Island

During the morning, the Cruise will be sailing to Deception Island. This Island is the largest active volcano in Antartida.  You will disembark in Whaler’s Bay and Pendulum Cove where you can live the unique experience of swimming in this water.

In the afternoon we will disembark at Hannah Point (Livingstone Island). This is one of the best places in Antartida to see fauna and we should see Gentoo penguins, giant petrels, Wilson petrels and skuas.

AntarcticaDays 9 and 10-Drake Passage

In the morning we will leave Antartida and head north back across the Drake Passage.

Day 11-Ushuaia, Argentina

After and early breakfast we will land at 9:00 am. Thus ends an incredible and unique expedition.

ITINERARY with FLIGHT from PUNTA ARENAS

Day 1             Punta Arenas, CHILE

Departure from Punta Arenas to cross the Drake Passage.  Arrive at Fildes Bay, located in King George Island, .  at the Chilean Base “Frei”.  Short visit to the Base

Day 2             Antarctica :  Brown Bluff

You are in Antartida.  Perhaps the first view you will have today from your window will be outstanding.  Try to image icebergs, mountains, cold waters, penguins, birds and whales.  While you are in Antartida there will be several variety of native wildlife you will see as the skuas, blue eyed shags, gulls and cape petrels.  During today you will visit Hope Bay, located near Antarctic Sound, where you will have the chance of looking penguins Adelie and Gentoo.  Later continue to Brown Bluff, a rockery near impressive glaciers.

Day 3             Astrolabe and Paulet Islands

Today you will visit a big colony of Adelie penguins, located at Paulet Island.  In the same place there there is a colony of blue eyed shags.

Petermann Island is the last southern point in this Cruise.  But the adventure continues.  In the morning you will discover the beautiful Paradise Bay and afternoon, you will explore Cuverville Island, where you will find the largest colony of Gentoo penguins and skuas. ITINERARY WITH FLIGHT to PUNTA ARENAS

Day 1             Ushuaia, Argentina

Day 2 to 3     Drake Passage (Paso Drake)

The following two days the Cruise will navigate through the famous Drake Passage.   This passage was named in honour to Sir Francis Drake, the English Navigator of the XVI Century.  During these two days, several seabirds as the wandering albatrosses will escort the vessel.  The navigation will continue towards the Antarctic Convergence, a biological barrier where cold polar waters sink beneath the warmer waters of the more temperate zone.

Day 4             Hope Bay and Brown Bluff

You are in Antartida.  Perhaps the first view you will have today from your window will be outstanding.  Try to image icebergs, mountains, cold waters, penguins, birds and whales.  While you are in Antartida there will be several variety of native wildlife you will see as the skuas, blue eyed shags, gulls and cape petrels.  The first time you see a whale will be unforgettable.  We can assure you that unless you will be able to watch an Orca, a mink or a humpback.

Day 5             Paulet Island & Astrolabe

And if you are lucky some whales will “dance” near the Cruise during all the time they want to.   Probably many friendly penguins will run and jump playing with the enemy (the orcas).  Today we will have the first landing in the Antarctic Continent will be in Neko Bay, discovered by Adiran de Gerlache.  Then you will land on Port Lockroy.
