The area of camping of Nahuelbuta National Park is in Pehuenco, located immediate to the administration and counts on 10 sites with table, banks, rustic furnaces, water, laundries, and baths. Is to 26,10 mi of the Angol city and 36,04 mi of Cañete. Open to the public all the year.

It is possible to arrive at Nahuelbuta National Park from Temuco to Angol and vice versa in the Bus Terminal of Bío Bío located in Lautaro Street #853 with 22 dayly departures from Monday to Saturday and 16 the Sundays.

It is possible to accede to the park through three points. From the Angol city by the White Fertile valleys way are 22,99 mi by debris way, the first 13,67 mi, the rest corresponds to debris way. Cañete

Mapuche Museum of Cañete

The Mapuche Museum of Cañete is a conscientious institution of the objective for which it was created. To pay Homage to the Mapuche Culture. Homage that during the last 25 years has been oriented towards the collecting, conservation and diffusion of different objects material pertaining to the mapuche culture which has been collected and donated by individuals and/or through projects of rescue made by the Direction of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DIBAM), and that at the moment conform important part of the collection.

Tucapel Fort

The Tucapel Fort is one of the first Spanish settlements in the conquest, founded by Pedro de Valdivia in 1552, cradle in great part of the Deed of Arauco who Ercilla describes in its epic poem the Araucana.

The location of the Tucapel Fort is what today it occupies the city of Cañete in the North sector, considered a Historical Monument, great part of its lands today is into the hands of particulars, another part lodges the Municipal Gymnasium and the Local Grammar school.

Lanalhue Lake

The Lanalhue Lake is located to 6,21 mi South of the Cañete city and to about 4,35 mi to North of Contulmo town, great part of the highway between these localities surrounds the shore by this beautiful Lanalhue Lake, of tempered water that each season the tourist enjoys more and more.

Lleu-Lleu Lake

The lake Lleu Lleu, that in mapuche voice means to melt or to crumble, is located to 39,37 feet above the sea level and 8,70 mi to the southwest of Contulmo. It has a surface of 10,63 acres. The Lleu-Lleu Lake is located on the mountain range of Nahuelbuta, to this solitary lake of steep edge, is considerer the purest lake of Latin America, its waters are calm and is communicated with the sea.

Next to the bridge on the river that drains it there is a small port with boats that offer circuits by the four arms of this spectacular lake that is between hills, cliffs and solitary beaches surrounded by native forest. Tirúa

The commune of Tirúa is located in the South end of the Province of Arauco, has a population of 9,664 inhabitants in great majority compose by mapuches.

Through Tirúa used to pass the only authorized way by mapuches, between Concepcion and Valdivia, from XVII century to aims of XIX century.

In 1844 the scientist Ignacio Domeyko, at the request of the Government, made this trip to describe to the reality of the Araucanía and its inhabitants. Today, the Route of the Sea, opened by the military engineers, modern but, rocky and a good layout, crosses last spurs of the mountain range of the Coast, next to the sea, and lines up towards the south to arrive until Mehuín in its present stage.

Quidico

To spend a weekend in Quidico, is almost common for many Cañetinean people, today with excellent highway, where in 45 minutes are covered little more than 37,28 mi towards the south and coast.

Quidico belongs to the commune of Tirúa that is 9,32 mi to the south, is a town, rivulet and tourist place with an ample and safe beach to cross and to bathe when there are days without wind.

Quidico offers good distraction alternative, it has the premises to taste seafood of good level and most of the year’s days opened, in special the weekends and an ample schedule, which is not possible to find in any other locality of the province.

If staid extends by the complete weekend, there are good cabins and a hotel of good level.
