The Palacio de la Real Audiencia lodges, from 1982, the Museo Historico Nacional, which holds a collection of nearly  1600 pieces related to the history of Chile, from pre-Columbian times to XX century. It shows in 18 different rooms of the Palace.

It was declared National Monument in 1969. It was constructed between years 1804 and 1807. In this building was celebrated the first government assembly

The Palacio de la Real Audiencia was built by the end of the Colony, between 1804 and 1807. It is work of Juan Goycolea, disciple of Toesca, who printed a neoclassic style, with Toscan reminiscences. It has several reforms, but its facade has been preserved. Worked two years under Spanish dominion as the Supremal court of the country. Year later was occupied by Ministries up to 1846 in which the President Manuel Bulnes transferred them to the Moneda Palace. In 1981 a restoration gave back to the building its plant and original circulation. Also its dependencies around a central yard were reorganized, at which it is arrived through a vestibule.

The palace is located downtown Santiago and can be accessed by car (See our car rental services) parking on the underground parking in Plaza de Armas or taking the subway and arriving to the Plaza de Armas Subway station (line 5).
