Considered by many, one of the best thermal centers of the country, the Termas de Chillán are located 5.249 feet abose sea level, on the slopes of Chillán volcano and combine the thermal activity with a modern ski center . The Termas de Chillán ski center is located 50 miles from Chillán, in the middle of the pre mountain range of the viii region of the Bio-Bio.

Surrounded by natural landscapes, with abundant flora and fauna, the spas of Chillán have hot waters, with average temperatures  of 140 Fahrenheit and recommended to relief arthritis, the skin affections and respiratory diseases. Their curatives faculties were known from the antiquity by the original indigenous towns and in 1954 the Ministry of Health of Chile already declared them “curatives fountains”.

The complex account on nine thermal swimming pools and three centers of SPA, one of them equipped with machines of the latest technology. There are also Jacuzzis and baths of sulfur steam. In its pavilion or the thermal source – both surrounded by a gorgeous landscape – you can access cosmetic treatments, massages and mud therapy. They correspond mainly to the type of sulfated waters.

In the environs, it is possible to make strolls and long walks, trekking, mountain bike, climbed on rock and to sight the numerous species of native fauna and among them stand out the pudúes, huemules, pumas and foxes. In addition, it is possible ascend the Chillán volcano, to practice climbing in The Andes, to fish in the Diguillín River or to make a visit to the caves of the Pincheira (Cuevas de los Pincheira), famous bandits of XIX century.

During winter time, the Termas de Chillán become Termas de Chillán ski center, with 28 tracks, 21 miles prepared and 10,000 hectares to practice ski. It has 9 means of elevation, as a triple chair, three double chairs and five drags.

The Termas de Chillán ski center has the longest track of South America, called the Three Marias (Las Tres Marias), of 8 miles of extension. 30% of their surface is apt for nascent, 40% medium level and only 30% for experts. It counts on a vertical unevenness of 3.608 feet and on a Snow Park. In addition, it is one of the centers that offer a large number of activities to carry out such as Nordic ski, randoneé, heliski, motos of snow and sledges.

During summer time, the Termas de Chillán become a beautiful mountain resort that organizes activities such as rock scalings, circuits in mountain bicycles, excursions, ascents to the crater of Chillán volcano, and besides offers cultural events and animation.
