Volcanoes and Lakes in the Far North

Day 1               Arica

Arrive in Arica at Chacalluta Airport. Later, transfer to selected hotel. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to visit Arica, known as “the city of the eternal spring season” and its main attractions by city your. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 2                 Lauca National Park and Chungara Lake

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before departing on a full day excursion to Lauca National Park and the famous Chungara Lake. We will also stop at the Lluta Valley where you will see some geoglyphs located in Poconchile town. Later, we will continue to Socoroma town, stopping here before continuing on to Lauca National Park and Chungará Lake, located at over 4,000 meters above the sea level, the highest lake in the world. You will observe the wildlife around the lake and in all Lauca National Park, including vicuñas, guanacos, llamas and vizcachas. You will also have great views of Pomerape, Guallatire, Parinacota and Quinchazata Volcanoes. Later, return to Arica. Accommodation at selected hotel.

Azapa Valley near Arica

Day 3                 Azapa Valley

After enjoying your breakfast at your hotel in Arica, you will have a half day tour to the Valley of Azapa, where you will see geoglyphs near Sombrero Hill. The fertile Valley of Azapa is also known for its Museum of San Miguel de Azapa, where you can view some mummies such as the Chichorro Mummy which is more than 7,600 years old and one of the oldest mummies in the world. Later, return to Arica. Enjoy the rest of the day as you please. Accommodation.

Day 4                  Arica – Airport

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before transferring to the Arica airport.
